First, welcome to AR mikemike...
unfortunately, he was unable to make our 'welcome to arkansas roadcruising mixer'...but we went ahead without him. not a bad night to be road cruising...
40 AOR copperheads
5 DOR copperheads
1 AOR pigmy
1 AOR ribbon
3 AOR speckeled kings
3 AOR milk snakes
2 AOR garter snakes
2 AOR rough earth snakes
1 AOR GP rat snake
1 AOR timber rattlesnake
1 DOR rough green
Ok, i see some of you sneering at those numbers...so to be honest, we were in 2 vehicles...but thats still a GREAT night of roadcruising. Diversity was good...and as you can tell, the copperhead population seems to be safe.
pictures....uh....one of these days. A couple of the milks were screamers!
I am having a sudden flare-up of rattlesnake jealousy
Glad to hear of you guys' raging success ![]()
Nice! Why can't I do that here in central Arkansas?
Danielle again...
And I thought we had a good night! I'm with Bushmaster...why can't we seem to do that here in central AR? I was happy to see 9 snakes in 2 night!
Good job Brad! Apparently we DO need to move up that way!
Maybe I'm the bad luck charm on these things lately.....
Nice!

Nice!
Na, the switch just got flipped. It has been a strange year.
Dang. I'm not too excited that I ended up missing this...
I found a DOR rough earth snake and a moccasin that was gone by the time I could finally get stopped and turned around.
Last night was more of just driving back from a spot my dad wanted to go fishing at, so tonight I'll be actually cruising somewhere...
Who found the pigmy?
Jeremy and I cruised the pig. ![]()
Nice! Why can't I do that here in central Arkansas?
Hey, you get to find all the scarlets and ground snakes... what else do you want!? ![]()

Hey I have never found a Ground Snake! Well I did find a Broad-banded Watersnake last nite so in you face NWA guys!!! With your 40 Copperheads and milk snakes and Pigs and Timbers and GPR's. ![]()
I'm sure Brad will come back later with his pics because he took way more than me. Here are the ones I took. Remember I did not see the Pig
.
So out of 20 Copperheads, I took a pic of one.
Garter
Brad and a Spec King
Same Spec King
Baby Walkingstick
Great Plains Rat
Just realized that we did not see a Black Rat. Between the two vehicles we did see most of what you expect. No ringnecks, browns or redbellys either but oh well. I think the other species made up for it.
Now to my favorites. We found three Red Milks total:
#1
#2
#3
I know many of you prefer the buzztails, so I held it till last.
As found
Now as we were all standing around admiring this fine animal, Jerrod went to hook it. Then I yelled mouse. Not but a few feet away was a mouse gnawing on a DOR Rough Green Snake. We let the snake be in hopes of it pursuing the mouse. No luck, but the snake did get closer to the mouse.
Last a posed pic
All in all a great night.
The Timber/Mouse/DOR Rough Green pic is sweet Glenn!!
Here's the pig. Sorry it's so crappy but it was taken with a cell phone. Notice the nice big lump from a recent meal.

I'm sure Brad will come back later with his pics because he took way more than me.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ...... (COUGH COUGH) ...... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Man, i needed a laugh like that on a Monday morning. May be quicker to sketch a picture from memory than get any pics from Ol' B
What, are you three trips behind now or four? ![]()
Four. ![]()
Fou, that is all. I'm like 3 Texas trips, panama and countless short trips behind.
For sure looking forward to the northerly trip.
Yall need to learn how to triage your photos. Its not like you need to keep all 20 you take of a single subject. Keep only the best. Sure makes the editing go by faster!

Agreed. Mine went down the tube when I started doing bird photography. Takes forever to go through 20+ bird photos of 10+ species.
