Topic: Cottonmouth morning! *dialup warning*
Headed over to the goldfish farm this morning where I had decent luck finding some snakes on Sunday. Well this morning has been a Cottonmouth morning for sure. Started off seeing 2 swimming in one of the ditches surrounding the fish ponds. Then flipped the big PVC pipes where I found an '06 baby Speckled Kingsnake on Sunday and found another Cotton in there. Went back to the ditch where I saw the first 2 swimming and found 3 basking on the ditch levy trying to warm up. All ranging from 2ft-2.5ft. Sunday's trip produced 3 non-vens which I was thrilled to see, but today it was definitely nice to find the Cottons.
Cotton number 2 (number 1 ducked under the water as soon as I turned on my camera and of course was the longest of the 5)

Cotton number 4
Cotton number 5
Bullfrog the size of a softball
Another just a little smaller
Redear Slider making his way back to the water at a pond they were refilling
This little hatchling Mud Turtle was in one of the ditches, he is the size of a nickel.
This area bordered the back side of the ponds.
And of course my bone shot, always finding something skeletal. Must have been a Coyote or a good sized dog. It was laying in the edge of one of the ditches.
I am soooo enjoying this warm weather!
