Topic: TN herping

Well, nobody is around to read this for a few days, but...

I'm in Tennessee right now and decided to go out today to a pond in a cow pasture that has produced herps before. Of course I saw a bunch of frogs jumping in the water and a few hundred toad tadpoles, but I saw at least 3 yellow-bellied watersnakes (one was very fat!), a midland watersnake, and a couple of cottonmouths. I didn't collect anything...I just played with one of the cottonmouths for a couple of minutes! But you anti-collectors should be happy that everything lived (unfortunately the pasture is going to be divided and sold and I am afraid that that may be the end of my herping there). But overall it was a good birthday outing...

I hope you guys are finding all sorts of things at Felsenthal. I look forward to hearing Brad's report!

The only difference between the government and the mafia is that the government calls its bill collector the “IRS” and the mafia calls its bill collector “Big Louie.”

Happy Belated Birthday, Jonathan... glad you got to do something fun for the weekend as well. Our trip was interesting- as usual- and the habitat was stunning- considering Im used to hills and rocks and short trees. hehe.

I dont think any of us are "anti-collectors" --- so I hope that was meant in fun.

Yeah, it was meant in fun. I know better than to start another war of opinions! big_smile
