Topic: Forum Update to phpBB 3.0 RC1

I've updated the forum software.  Already I've noticed the "Post new topic" and "Reply to topic" buttons are broken, though replaced by text links...so still functional.  Probably when I get back from ecology camp--in about 2 weeks--I'll finish the tweaking.

lots of buttons... avs.. before clicking a persons name took them to their profile, thats not working. and the topic icons for last poster in a thread (view new posts, looks like little paper or something) are down. Are those things that were customized?

They changed something with the language paths (notice how all of those buttons have ENGLISH text on them...or did?).  Everything is still functional; people may just have to live with it for a couple of weeks.

you've stayed on top of the latest versions huh?  3.0 was only officially released a short while ago.
How's it going with it?  I'm trying to convince another webmaster to switch to 3.0 now.  What I've seen and read shows a LOT of nice improvements.

We'd been anticipating the release of Olympus for at least a year before it was available for beta. Some testing was done on another site we host but we chose not to install it here until 3.0 was more user friendly.  As far as keeping up with the updates - not all of them are mandatory for our site. We don't feel the need to have every little tweak and are better left to a major upgrade.

Hey, it's millipede!   cool

We've been running Beta and RC releases of PhpBB 3 for about a year now.  A few days back, I upgraded us to the Gold release.  So far so good I think; a couple of style glitches notwithstanding.
