Not to steal the thunder from the recent pics of the Big Bend trip, but--as some of you know--"Pigs" had become something of a jinx snake for me. Well today, FINALLY, I've been unjinxed! ...it had been five full years since I turned up my last one.

Congrats Kory. I guess you found that yesterday? Last time I ran back to my car for my camera and things, the snake was gone when I got back. It was nice of the snake to stay put till you got back. By the the taper of the tail, I would guess female? Also, it looks thick, so could I guess prego? I am going mainly by this picture:
Ours gave birth in september and I was told that was late - but she was at least as big as this one is in the baby regions.

Correct. Wasn't expecting much as I got out after it was already pushing into the 80's.

I guess that *could* be a bonus, depending on how you look at things! HA! Might have just been puffed up with air, but I'll examine it more closely to find out. (Yes, it was collected for educational purposes...for those wondering.)
WOW!!!! so beautiful....the closest i ever came to finding one was a DOR. it was very depressing 
Great job Kory! If you look long enough and don't give up you will be rewarded, usually when you least expect it. Been down my road twice this week looking for pigmies and have seen only sticks. Was on a farm north of Harrison and found a large black snake shed and then two large coachwhip sheds right next to each other.
