Topic: Caddo season started well

I went to my field site on Monday to check out the beginning of my Caddo Mtn. Salamander season. Well I think itâ??s going to be a pretty busy year. We saw a total of about 50 P. caddoensis. Last June I saw half that, so Iâ??m guessing with the high amount of rain this year, they are either moving sooner, or there are more of them moving. Well I guess I will find out in a few weeks when I return. We also saw a couple of P. albagula

Here are some pics of three gravid females. I didnâ??t have our good camera so the quality isnâ??t as good as I wanted. Iâ??ll try to get some good shots when I go back in July.

Yeah, you better get some good shots cause those are horrible!

The only difference between the government and the mafia is that the government calls its bill collector the “IRS” and the mafia calls its bill collector “Big Louie.”

NOBAMA:  Keep the change.

Ok so the pics aren't bad. I just compare them to some of the really really good ones that I have. I'm a pretty harsh critic of my own photos.

When we processed them (measuring and marking), we could see the eggs quite easily. They look normal sized in the pictures, but in person you could really see them bulging. Especially the third one.
