Topic: Mexico Lifelist

Hey Guys,

Just got back from Mexico a few days ago and caught a whole bunch of cool herps. Sorry no pictures but I thought people might be interested in knowing how the trip went. These were caught in the states of Districto Federal, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Michoacan, Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit, and Sinaloa. We got tissues and specimens of all these and a lot more that other people on the trip caught.

No pictures?   You're killin us.

Really caught my attention with heloderma...but it looks like a successful trip overall.  Hows this, get someone who DID take pictures to post them...i'd love to see some of these!  This reminds me of what i do...post a list but no pics!

Re: Mexico Lifelist

Sorry about the no pictures. Other people on the trip took photos but not sure if they took photos of the herps I caught or not. Maybe I'll try to post someone else's at some point but right now I am just trying to finish my thesis in the next few days.

The Heloderma was awesome! We found two dead and one alive in about an hour on a road in Jalisco. It was great. I looked for a long time to find a Gila monster in Arizona and so I thought I'd make it easier on myself and just find a beaded lizard in Mexico. Now I don't feel so bad although I still haven't found a Senticolis. We also caught a Sibon nebulata and a few other things on that road in a really short time. That road was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The Cerrophidion barbouri was probably the biggest though, I've been wanting to catch one of those for a long time since there are only a couple dozen in museums and it is a group that I work with.

Josh will hopefully post some photos of Mexican herps when he gets back from Chiapas in August.

Hope everyone is having a fun summer and I hope to make the next field meeting.

Robert
