Topic: Ecology Camp 2007 - Herps Report
For what it's worth, I've posted herp pictures from ecology camp. Check the recent updates for those (with a few more to be added soon). Nothing too unusual or interesting turned up, but it was a good escape for a couple of weeks.
I did run a couple of hoop-style turtle traps for basically the second attempt. Using sardines as bait this time, we captured maybe 8-10 common snappers, 2 red-eared sliders, and a common musk.
A few funnel traps captured 2-3 frogs (green, narrowmouth, and ?), a racer, a woodland vole, and a variety of insects.
Pretty much off the top of my head, this is a list of herps found in and around camp:
Southern Copperhead
Western Cottonmouth
Southern Black Racer
