You sir... SUCK!
Did I mention that it was under the very first rock that I flipped?
Again... you suck! As soon as finals are over, IT'S ON! I'm going out as much as possible!
Very cool again. Now you have challenged me. I must get out more and find another scarlet. If I find one this year, it will make three years in a row. ![]()
Last years was a county record soooo. ![]()
Last years was a county record soooo.
Ok you got me. I'm tired of scarlets anyway.
Strangely enough, I would be much happier with a Louisiana Milk or one of the crayfish snakes.
Very nice find. Well done.
Thank you.

A louisiana milk or a Crayfish snake would be sweet. I wouldn't mind finding a Buttermilk racer either.

Uh...where'd you say you found that buttermilk? People down here call'em 'speckled runners'. I was relieved when I saw buttermilks in the Conant guide(at age 14) I had started to wonder if they might be the result of industrial waste or something!
("Oh. That's what they're supposed to look like.")

Union county Near FNWR. Racers are considered trash snakes by most, but not these guys.
You are the most irritating (but luckiest) son of a gun. i mean, a scarlet and a buttermilk?!?! whats next, a south florida rainbow snake?? j/k.... good job on the finds!

I've been called alot of things but never irritating
. Luck plays a part in some of my finds but I also do lots of research on species locality. Not to mention all the actual leg work I put in.
Ok what do we need to find? Name a rare critter and Thomas will find it. Just razzing you
. Man you find the good stuff. I've seen buttermilks in TX and LA but only a DOR in AR. Of course not far from where you found yours. Can I tag along when you looking for LA Milks.

My plan this year was to target harder to find species. So far its paid off. I still have to make it back to the Ouachitas but as summer aproaches I'm gonna focus on Aquatics. Mississippi Green watersnake and Queen snakes are at the top of my list. An Arkansas WDB would be nice but I'm gonna let that one cool down I think. Don't want to jump on any band wagons
. I'd be glad to make an attempt at LA Milks sometime if you'd like.

I'm always up for herping with you but I'm afraid I would be your bad luck charm.
Not an LA Milk but this girl was a beast. 14" long and the diameter of a Quarter. It was so fat it almost got away because it startled me. Too bad it was about to shed.
Lee county,AR

Lest my eyes deceive me, she's probably in a pre-lay shed. She looks rather distended and lumpy toward her end.

Queen Snake Johnson county,AR

Since it only took me 3 hours to find the queen snake I decided to stop off in Conway county and check off the Collared Lizard for 2010.

The hits just keep coming! Great job...AGAIN. Gotta find me some Queens this year. Maybe if I'd hit the well-known localities rather than the historical and hypothetical localities for these harder-to-find gems, I'd actually turn something up!!! HA!
