Topic: Road cruising Copperhead hot spot!

This is Heath's wife, Danielle.  I'm posting tonight.
It appears that we have found a great place to go road cruising, but the only problem is that most snakes we find are dead.  In 2 nights we have seen more snakes that all of the other times we've gone road cruising combined.  A total of 9 snakes.  5 of those were copperheads.  Ok ok maybe it's not all that many, but we only cruised about 6 miles down this road so I don't think that's too bad. 
So here are the totals for tonight.


2 Copperheads-DOR
1 Copperhead-AOR
1 Great Plains ratsnake-DOR   

I had to do some fancy footwork to avoid hitting the copperhead, but it all worked out!

Bummer! So far, my only two snakes from here (I just got to AR less than 24 hours ago) were a DOR rough earth and a cotton that I cruised on a shoulderless hwy while being tailgated by a dude in a huge truck. It was off the road by the time I could get turned around...

We had the same problem!!!  We did have another snake that was gone by the time we got turned around.  Don't have clue what it was.  It's amazing how long it takes to get stopped and turned around even at 25 mph.
