Topic: spring break herpin

Well after not seeing any western diamondbacks on Sunday, I decided to not let that discourage me and I have been herping in northern AR since Monday.  I was hoping that a few more things would be out, but I have managed to get a few.

First thing on Monday: Collared Lizard (I was able to actually get some photos with my camera)
Speckled Kingsnake
ground skinks
fence lizards
red-belly snake
spring peepers
pickerel frog
bullfrog
slimy salamander
Ozark zigzag salamander
dark-sided salamander
cave salamander
many-ribbed salamander
Newt

Pretty picture!(My wife says) smile  My spring break find: Hip wader boots! big_smile  $10 at new Salvation Army Thrift Store.  Next time we go creek herpin', I can do some of the wading!

Re: spring break herpin

Dave,

My next targets are living mudsnakes (maybe you can wear your hip waders while we road cruise in case you have to jump out into a swamp big_smile ) and glass lizards.  Be prepared the next couple weeks, month smile

Re: spring break herpin

thanks,  I knew they were there since last year, but could never manage to connect with them when I had my camera.  I was hoping to meet you last weekend for the atrox outing.    If your interested PM me, I can connect you with a spot for crawfish frogs about an hour from Fort smith.
