Topic: mud snake

After about 3 years of hoping to find a mudsnake, I have finally turned one up.  I am proud to say that I have already knocked off one of my tragets for this year.  I decided to do some road cruising this morning.  After about 12 miles of dirt road without seeing anything (I was hoping for possibly a glass lizard), I stopped in at a place that has some backwaters (Same place I found a DOR mudsnake county record last year)  After about 5 minutes of poking around, I flipped a juvenile mudsnake about 12" long.  I was so excited, I just went back to my truck and went home very very satisfied. big_smile  big_smile  big_smile

Nice! I have only seen one mudsnake. Got lucky and found him while road cruising.
