Nice! 8 inches isn't a baby ringneck, though. Haha. I've found a couple babies this year, right around 3.5 inches or so.

I live in Midway right down the road from you. I have looked numerous times but have never found a hognose however I have had may people tell me you can find them here. I ended up buying one.

Yep, the Mtn Home area has Hognose. We "discovered" one right by the house a couple of years ago. One of our cats was mighty interested, but Cookie had done no harm to the snake. The little Hognose was playing dead. He would immediately flip himself upside down if we turned him right side up. He was photographed and re-located to a wooded part of the yard so he could be on his way at his lesiure.
He was maybe 10-12 inches long and about as big around as my pinky.

We've aslo had a real nice copperhead crossing the yard last fall at night.
I've also found several other small snakes I could not identify.

I've seen one snake this year.  It was all of 8 inches long and headed back into a crack in a large rock in a flower bed.
