Topic: Frogs in my backyard/woods

Last night Kasidy (my four year old herping apprentice), and I went looking for frogs in a small woodland pond by my house. Here is what we saw/heard:

TMTC gray treefrogs
2-3 Spring peepers
1 chorus frog
1 Leopard frog
3 Fowler's toads

The pond has several small trees/bushes around it. There were so many gray tree frogs that there were as many as three per small bush. These guys were funny to watch because they keep squaking their terrortorial calls frequently at each other and fighting for positions.  lol

We observed a pair of gray treefrogs at my yard pond in amplexus, and Kasidy asked what they were doing. I told her they were making baby frogs. She said: They need to get married! Too cute.
