I think from here on out I'll just update this thread with my finds. Here are a few things from this weekend.

Yeah I had set out thinking of Atrox but decided it was too cold. Headed west for Sallies. I was pretty amazed to see a pygmy on the crawl at 55 deg.
Good stuff! Also found my first pyg of the year this weekend. I am sooo behind on posting pics/reports.
Thanks Had to come up with an Alt plan for the weekend. Those flood waters have to come down sometime though.
I found this gravid Midland Brownsnake on the street in front of the house.
I was suprised when my daughter Chloe asked to hold it.

On the 27th I made plans to meet up with Glenn in Monticello to look for Buttermilk Racers. It didn't take us too long before we found the ugliest little Buttermilk ever.

Later in the day Glenn and I had done a little log rolling. As we came out of the woods and walked along the road back towards the truck Glenn stepped off the road back into the woods. Thinking he was cutting back through the woods to truck I crossed back over the road and just barely missed stepping on a large female Eastern Hognose who had a male hot on her trail. Glenn watched as I ran and got the truck. By the time I got back the less attractive male had decided to try to escape.

And finally a tiny little Pig. I didn't have a light and at first i thought it was an Earth snake. I still get a laugh when I think about Glenn telling me "Don't Grab It!"
Even though we didn't find an atractive Buttermilk I had a blast and consided it a successfull day.

Yeah I think it had about four specks. We found an adult DOR that was beautiful other than the fact that it was dead.
A couple from this weekend. First a Mississippi Green Watersnake from Arkansas county.

I spent a day floating the Buffalo River with the family recently. My daughter Chloe and I spent the time looking for Turtles and Nerodia.

Thats some nice herps! I see you live in Searcy, as do I, do you do much herping around here locally?
I herp locally on accasion. Mainly when I want to knock off common stuff for the year.
If you ever want company I wouldnt' mind taggin along. Ive never went with another herper before, and would love to learn some 'tricks of the trade' I guess you could say.
Its a little cold right now for anything but salamanders. PM me when your available and we can probably find a few salies if your interested.
