Yeah I have not seen a live one in a couple years.  Only seen a handful since we moved here in 1994.  I haven't always been cruising for snakes though.  Pretty much just herping around the house when I was a kid.  Mom found a pygmy in the flower beds one year.  Moving here from CA my parents were somewhat used to rattlesnakes so we just moved it to the edge of the yard.  Now I live in town and don't see any snakes at the house.  I miss just the happening across something while mowing or working in the yard.
