Topic: Tulsa Reptile Expo

Not a huge turnout, but always good to see some of the people I know, check out animals and be around other reptile people.

Check out this little lazy beardie baby..lol must've rode that sulcata around for several hours.

Oh wow. Those mantids are neat. I'm not really a bug person, but I wouldn't mind one of those as a pet.

Some day I'll make it to a reptile expo. Hopefully one with some nice frogs, too.

Re: Tulsa Reptile Expo

Oddly enough I didn't see any frogs at this one.  KC usually has a couple of tree/aquatic amphibian sellers, but the only ones I saw were the albino Af. clawed frogs and some Tiger Sallies.
I loved the mantids.  These particular ones are apprx. $20 online when they are in stock.

I'm about to have an abruptly.

Re: Tulsa Reptile Expo

Nice pics Courtney, thanks for sharing! That joey is adorable. Too bad they can eviscerate you with their back feet when they get older yikes

Is there something odd about that bee, or is it just fading out?

Those mantids are cool. If they had a longer lifespan, I'd be interested in getting one or two for my classroom. We had a locally caught preying mantis during the fall semester of this past year. The kids loved watching her catch and eat insects and spiders. She laid an egg case and then died. Unfortunately, the case hatched during the dead of winter and all the babies perished because it was too cold to release them and I had nothing small enough for those tiny things to eat.

Re: Tulsa Reptile Expo

Yeah the mantids are awesome.  The spider/ bee whatever the heck was pretty cool looking.  I have no idea what all genetics were involved in that.  I like BPs, but I'm not up on their genetics.
I love the mantids, and yeah their life spans are very short.   The sellers fed their babies on fruit flies, I believe.
