Topic: Green Tree frog

Last Spring I went flying out the back door to lock up the birds, flipped on the light, charged out the door, and as I was heading out I noticed there was something green on the south side of the house. Came back to check it out, and there was a Green Tree frog. By the time I got the camera and got back it was gone. Been watching for them, heard their calls several times at the pond after a good rain, but didn't see another one, until last night! Another late night check, this time to make sure the water for the stock tank was shut off. (The stupid little bull like to butt the tank around the pasture at night!) When I came back in there was one of the little monsters hanging on the front window in the familyroom. Again, it was gone by the time I got the camera, and a check around the front turned up nothing! sad Guess all I can do is keep watching!

As a side note, there was a black toad out the night the tree frog was on the wall. It was black, lots of warts, and looked like it was wet. I've looked all over and found nothing even close, any ideas?

Re: Green Tree frog

Your toad is most likely a Dwarf American toad. They're highly variable and can be found anywhere from red to brown to orange to black.

Re: Green Tree frog

A Green Treefrog from Pea Ridge would make for a nice county record.  Take some good pics.   tongue

Re: Green Tree frog

I keep watching and listening, and the battery in the camera is charged. It's only a matter of time before I get a shot of one.

Thanks Mike!
