Topic: The Debt Limit

Well should we raise it or should our government tighten its belt like the rest of us? I understand that some may not receive their benefits, but we knew that this day was coming. Any thoughts?

Re: The Debt Limit

It's really frustrating. Why didn't President Obama pass a budget when he had control over both houses of congress? How are both sides of this pointing fingers saying "they won't compromise" when both sides have key issues they won't give on?
It's going to give an ailing economy another black eye. Not what we need.
It seems like rather than fixing the immediate problem both sides are banking on the voters blaming the other side.
Third party anyone?

Re: The Debt Limit

Your right. Both parties will point fingers at each other and then claim credit for saving us all. I've been independent all my voting life, but I'm looking more seriously at the libertarians all the time.

A friend of mine from Africa teaches post graduate business courses here in AR. I tells me all the time that the US was a great nation when government spending was 2% of the GDP. Now that it has topped 50% of the GDP we're a lost cause!
