Today when I got home I was checking out my new corn snake and saw her drinking for the first time.. Sure you guys may have seen it a hundred times, but for me it was brand new and super cool! I saw her from only a few inches away. Just thought I would let yall in on another first. Thanks:)
Wait til she goes opaque and sheds the first time Always exciting.
My favorite thing is when snakes yawn! They just look soooo funny? And they do that even less frequently than drinking...(it's a good chance to look inside their mouths too, but it may be a while before you know what looks normal and what doesn't)
I agree, the stretching of the jaw is a cool photo op! I have sat patiently (er, well as patient as I get) outside my arboreal viper cages after they eat, just waiting for a toothy pic. It was rather surprising to find out those tiny heads hold some pretty big fangs!
I actually have a photo of her in later yawn. Her mouth was shutting when I got the pic off. I will try to post it here.
She is starting to shed by the way.. Its cool how her color changed and her eyes changed so fast!
Cool! One of my larger pigmies and my friend's female Tiger Reticulated Python just shed..AMAZING color They look so cool the day after they actually shed. They go milky for a few days, then clear up, and then anytime between 1-3 days later, they shed.
She shed today! Your right! She is so pretty and feels so cool! My son and I looked like two kids at the christmas tree with that skin. Another first! AWESOME!
Yeah I actually saved my big pigmy shed this time. I used to have my female western diamondback shed, and my East African Gaboon's shed simply because the patterning was so neat on it..LOL
