I'm going..lol I don't care when/where, I will find a way to go. It can cool off any day now.
I opt for somewhere that gets a little rain before hand and isn't white oak lake.... and if it's between September 21st and October 6th, I can't go cause I'll be herping Arizona and California.
...start talking about the fall field trip.
Last two have been south of the Arkansas river, so I am guessing we will be looking northward......
North is fine with me. I am on call the weekends of Sept. 23-25, Oct. 14-16 and Nov. 4-6
I'd personally like to see something around the mid/end Sept or first of Oct.
We're looking towards NWA..Madison,Carroll,Washington Co areas.

I actually have a spot that might work with a ton of south facing rock outcroppings in Carroll county that has collared lizards, coachwhips, etc., and is where I found the nice red/black ground snake that is pictured on this site. It also has an abundance of nasty giant centipedes and tarantulas! It's a very large property that is privately owned and, to my knowledge, has not been hunted, except by me. If there is enough interest, I will need to get permission ahead of time, but it shouldn't be a problem. Most likely, I could get permission to camp there as well. However, there would not be showers available. Additionally, there is a spot not far from there with a spring that has tons of salamanders and where I've found timber rattlesnakes. Actually, there are several spots near Berryville that would prove productive and we could also camp at Beaver Lake at one of the campgrounds. It's just a thought...
I'm in
I'm glad this will be in my neck of the woods.
cool!
Groundsnakes! Mr. Morris I like the way you talk. You have my vote.
I was in at Coachwhips & Timbers.
Actually, I was in at "NWA" hahaha
What dates do you have in mind?
What dates do you have in mind?
As stated above I am on call the weekends of Sept. 23-25, Oct. 14-16 and Nov. 4-6 Basically every 3rd week but I figure this will be the main herping time. Before or after this will likely be too hot or cold.
looks like Mike's out Sept 21-Oct 6. Obviously it's impossible to plan a trip around EVERYONE's schedule, but it'd be nice if we could accomodate the majority of people wanting to attend. So maybe one of the weekends Sept 9th, Sept 16th or Oct 7th? Or is that too late?
Im in on the 9th or 16th.
The 16th of Sept. or later would work for me.

I vote for Sept. 30-Oct. 2. We have all the kids that weekend and it would also work with Eric's schedule.
We (Torry) are working out the details. We (me) will be updating once it's worked out.
Thank you Josh...
While my connection here at HofA is shotty at best, this is the first time since mid June I've been able to even access the page without a "page not found" error messege. That being said, it is possible the main announcement will come from Josh when it is ready to be posted.
We are looking toward Withrow Springs State Park and it will probably be the 2nd weekend in October but I need to finish up discussions with the SP personnel on that matter. We have a few resources for property access that we'll be contacting and arranging in the next couple weeks...updating maps and permissions for WMA's, etc.
We appreciate your patience, the announcement should be ready by the end of this week.
Not the 2nd weekend in OCT. ![]()
I dunno what it looks like now, but there for awhile several of the camping spots were closed because of all the flooding earlier in the year. Still a nice place to camp ![]()
Courtney--- I know.. We scouted over there. It could work in our favor.. I have to speak to the Super.
The first falls on a Saturday- and we've always tried to stear clear of opening day of deer season.
I think that would count as the first weekend and the 7, 8, 9th would be second..
-- as stated in an earlier post, we cant possibly work around everyones work, side trips and obligations... it also depends on availability through whatever facility we're working with at the time.
So what's the latest?
So what's the latest?
We are working out details of a camping spot and should have something soon. ![]()
