Topic: Arkansas Wild Herp Aberrants

A recent post got me to thinking, what wild herp aberrants have been found and/or documented in Arkansas?  These are the ones I know:

1) Albino Earth Snake (Virginia sp.) found in a flowerbed in Texarkana, Miller Co. in 2011 by Michael Sasser.

2) Albino Ring-necked Snake found in Washington Co. in 2004 by a worker reading water meters.  It was held shortly by Jonathan Lusk at the Ozark Reptile Museum in Fayetteville, then transfered to Justin Mitchell (aka Mr. Serpent on the old forum; does he still post here?).  That's the last I know of it.

Re-reading old emails, I actually have permission to post the pics.  I guess I'll have to get them uploaded to the gallery.  In the meantime, I've attached a pic, which shows up at the end of the post.

3) Albino juvenile Speckled Kingsnake found by a young boy in 2007 in the vicinity of Magnolia, Columbia Co.  According to Jim Gann, who took the photograph below, the 12-year old enthusiast was intent on keeping it himself.  (And yes, I did put in a request to obtain the animal myself, but was unsuccessful.)  I asked a year or two later whatever became of it and Jim was pretty sure the animal escaped its enclosure and was lost.   roll

4) Xanathophyllic Bullfrog from Jonesboro, Craighead Co. in 1988.  I assume the specimen ended up in ASU Zoological Museum.

A photograph and mention of this one is in the AR herp book.

Are there any others in the AR herp book, I've forgotten?  I know there is a somewhat oddly patterned Pickerel Frog in there, too.

5?) Zigzag patterned Midland Watersnake found in Benton (or Carroll?) Co. in 2005 by me.  Photographed and released.  Probably a bit of a stretch for this list, but...

An albino "Ratsnake" I went to rescue in Springdale in 2007 turned out to be an escaped Cornsnake.  The family that found it in their yard ended up keeping it after inquiries of the neighbors turned up no leads and, short of a couple of emails asking for husbandry info, that's the last I know.

Who else has something to add?
