I found an earth snake on the back patio tonight. Of course the temperature is in the 70's so that might have had something to do with it.

We need to have a "latest snake find" contest to finish out the year.
last year on the way back home from thanksgiving at grandma's in searcy county, ar, i did in fact see a black racer cross the road. It was a warm day in the 60's...but it was dang near Dec 1! Will try to be more cognisant of it this year.

Must have been looking for salamanders. Find any? I went out for about 2 hours to a new locality...1 Spotted Salamander, 1 Bullfrog (also, many Bullfrog tadpoles/metamorphs), and WORMS...100s and 100s of WORMS! I thought I had a good spot scoped out for Tigers, but not to be. I'm not sure how long that locality for Tigers is going to continue to produce, so I'm trying to find another place or two. Easier said than done, I guess.

Ha! me too... checked out a new place i spied on the map, and struck out...but i did drive by the old stand by as well and struck out...only made about 5 passes though...but conditions seemed perfect...but no tigers. Like you said though...WORMS everywhere!
