Announcing:  The Year of the Lizard 2012 Calendar -- featuring our new logo!

We have a winner!  The logo selection and vote by the Year of the Lizard Team took a bit longer than expected due to so many excellent entries received -- THANK YOU to those of you who entered the contest!  Congratulations to our winner, Todd Long, who was selected for his simple and elegant silhouette design, which you will see throughout the year featured on several YoL products and our website... coming soon!  You can see the debut of his logo on our calendar (below)!

Todd is a Graphic Designer with Radio Systems Corporation in Knoxville Tennessee. He says, "I have appreciated lizards since childhood for their fascinating diversity and adaptability, not to mention that they are beautiful creatures – and having a lifelong interest in nature as I constantly hike, roam, and backpack in the Great Smoky Mountains. I've been interested in art as long as I can remember and have have always enjoyed creating in traditional media as well as digital."  You'll be able to read more about Todd in our first Year of the Lizard Newsletter in January!

Wanna help PARC support Lizard Conservation and Research?   To kick off the Year of the Lizard, PARC is excited to announce our first product--the 2012 Year of the Lizard wall calendar!  Just in time for the holidays!
To view and order the calendar, simply go online to the PARCStore (link below). You can view the photographs for each month online, and if you don't think these are some of the most stunning lizard photographs of some of the most stunning native species, you don't need to order it...but we are confident you will think this is the perfect gift for every lizard-fan on your shopping list!

Here's the important part:  Proceeds of calendar sales will support a PARC lizard conservation and research fund to be awarded later in 2012.  Right now, the calendar is the first item available via the PARCStore at Cafe Press, but please bookmark the website and stay tuned...more PARC and Year of the Lizard gear will be added soon to help support more of PARC’s Year of the Lizard and other efforts in public education, publications and other conservation activities!

Enjoy!
