You guys are liking those watersnakes.   wink

The thing that kind of jumped out at me originally was that Ouachita Duskies have more than TWICE the samples as the next most represented species.  They are housed in 32 museums.  I presume that a lot of natural history classes over the years have come down to the Ouachitas for collecting, but any idea about why the Duskies should be hit so much harder than the rest?

Most collected snake is still to be had.  It's one of our little fossorials.

My thoughts on the duskies were that it is abundant in its area, and genetic studies were done on it ato separate it for D.  fuscus.  Also, it may be a function of searching for spotted duskies.  Jo-Ann

Could be.  I'll have to go back and see if there is a pattern from the collecting dates.

I was going only by ASU collecting. Guess I should've realized how many more were in other collections.

IMO, they are a very abundant species located in a VERY well herped area.
