Topic: neat little find...
Roadcruised a new area last night since my usual spot hasn't produced a snake in 3 months. Right at dusk I spotted a small yellowbelly watersnake zip off the road and I had the feeling that I was in a good area. That feeling became reality when I crossed a bridge and nearly hit a small spotted snake. I was extremely happy I missed it.

Little pigmy rattlesnake (appeared to be a very fat male). He was quite a biter at first, snapping at anything nearby. After a few minutes of wrangling, however, he calmed down enough for more photos.

Finished the night with 2 DORs- a black rat and a western ribbon (which I have never seen before).
So, all in all, pretty good night and much better than the past few months.
